Darjeeling Second Flush Tea has blackish brown appearance of the leaf with light golden tips. Flavory with a bolder muscatel (like a wine from muscat grapes) flavor. The aroma is a little fruity while the liquor is thicker, smooth drinking with a deeper amber color. There is a hint of astringency and a mildly flowery after taste.
The progress of spring in the hills graduates its flora to develop blooms for a bounty of fruits. The tea during this time shows a similar strength in liquor with an exuberance of flavor. Excellent ! I had been looking for a darjeeling as good as one that I used to drink many years ago, tried a few others but this one is it ! Has that clear muscatel flavor with a little bit of toastiness underneath.
